UNB moves up to No.2 in men's soccer

(OTTAWA, ON) In men's soccer, UNB (2-0-0) moves up one spot to tie with York (3-0-1) for second place in the CIS rankings. The move comes after a six-point weekend in St John's, where the Varsity Reds beat the Sea-Hawks twice in two days.

The top-ranked and defending two-time national champ UBC Thunderbirds kicked off their Canada West schedule with a pair of road wins, 3-1 against Victoria and 1-0 over Fraser Valley. Friday night's season opener at UVic's Centennial Stadium was played in front of a raucous crowd of just under 2,000.

Laval (1-0-1) drops two positions to No. 4.
