UNB Menā??s soccer defeat Mount Allison in home opener
Victor Karosan was bombarded by his teammates and fans after scoring the only goal in the game against Mount Allison in the 89th minute of play, sealing their 1-0 victory.

“I had a slow start to the game, but the coach put me in and believed in me,” said Karosan.

“Our first win here is really setting the tone, and I think that we believe we can really do good in the league this year.”

Returning starting goaltender Aaron McMurray protected his net ending with a shut-out and keeping UNB in the game.

With several failed attempts at goals with ball bouncing off the crossbar of Mount Allison’s net, and injuries resulting in players being taken off the field, the men continued to push Mount A’s defence resulting in a one goal game.

“In second half I thought we actually got away from our game plan, and what was working so well for us in the first half,” said Head Coach Miles Pinsent.

“But ultimately the ball went into the net and so we will take the three points for sure.”
